India’s indigenous Nirbhay cruise missile programme has entered a significant phase, reflecting the country’s steady progress in developing advanced long-range precision strike systems. The missile is designed to undertake precision strikes against high-value military targets over long distances while maintaining a low radar signature through terrain-following flight. Such capabilities are increasingly important as modern battlefields demand stand-off weapons that can engage targets without exposing launch platforms to enemy air-defence systems.
