Indian defence and aerospace manufacturer Sigma Advanced Systems has strengthened its relationship with global aerospace major Rolls-Royce by securing a new long-term agreement worth nearly £125 million. The contract has been awarded through Sigma’s recently acquired UK subsidiary, Bromford Precision Solutions, further expanding the company’s role in the international aerospace supply chain.
The latest agreement builds on an earlier £300 million long-term contract between Sigma and Rolls-Royce. With the addition of the new agreement, the combined value of the two contracts has reached approximately £425 million, marking a significant expansion of Sigma’s business with the British aerospace company.
Under the new arrangement, Bromford Precision Solutions will manufacture a range of complex components used in aero-engine systems. These include engine rings, casings, lock plates and other critical engine structures. Production will be undertaken through Sigma’s manufacturing operations in both the United Kingdom and India, creating a dual-source supply arrangement for Rolls-Royce.
The dual-location manufacturing model is expected to broaden Sigma’s ability to support Rolls-Royce with precision-engineered components while also strengthening supply-chain flexibility. It also brings together Bromford’s specialised UK capabilities with Sigma’s manufacturing infrastructure in India.
The agreement comes shortly after Sigma Advanced Systems completed its acquisition of Bromford Precision Solutions. The UK company, based in Leicestershire, has specialised in the production of complex aero-engine components, including rings, compressor casings, ducts, brackets and lock plates. Bromford also holds approvals from major aerospace companies such as Rolls-Royce and Siemens.
Sigma’s acquisition of Bromford was aimed at strengthening its international aerospace manufacturing capabilities and expanding its position within the global aero-engine supply chain. The addition of Bromford gives Sigma access to established precision-machining expertise in the UK while allowing the group to combine its British and Indian manufacturing operations.
The new Rolls-Royce agreement therefore represents an early commercial outcome from Sigma’s UK expansion strategy. By integrating Bromford into its wider manufacturing network, Sigma can offer a broader portfolio of specialised aerospace components while supporting the production requirements of one of the world’s major aero-engine manufacturers.
For India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing sector, the development also highlights the growing participation of Indian companies in global OEM supply chains.
