In Udhampur, personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in the Talot village area after information was received about the suspected movement of two individuals. The alert was raised after the individuals reportedly approached a local residence during the night and sought food before leaving the area.
Following the information, security personnel moved into the surrounding areas and began searches to establish the whereabouts of the suspected individuals. The operation involved checking vulnerable locations and maintaining surveillance over possible routes through which the individuals could have moved.
Security forces have also expanded their search activity beyond Udhampur. In Reasi district, teams conducted searches in the forested areas around Sadini in Pouni, while security personnel carried out similar operations in villages located near the International Border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
Officials said the operations are being conducted as a precautionary measure following inputs about suspicious movement. The primary objective is to verify the information, locate any unidentified persons and prevent any potential security threat from developing in the region.
